Technology manufacturers are investing increasingly in artificial intelligence. One example is Foxconn, e.g. manufacturing for Apple, that only in one single factory is replacing 60 000 human workers with robots. This should only be seen as the first wave in a general trend where AI takes over more of humans more simple works in order to reduce costs as well as removing humans from dangerous work environments. The development has great similarities with the transformation in the 19th Century with rationalization of agriculture. One example of this trend is that 35 Taiwanese businesses including Foxconn spent a total of approximately €550 million on artificial intelligence last year, according to the Kunshan government’s publicity department.
