codeeLearningworld News from Italy

After the great success last year when 300 000 students participated in 16 500 classes to learn to code, the Ministry of Education in Italy has this year extended the challenge by aiming to involve 1 million students. The Italian Minister of Education Stefania Giannini says -“We have a very ambitious goal to contribute, through the school, to the cultural growth of our country. The coding is not an activity for computer, but a transversal competence, like language skills, it is essential to acquire from the first years of study. The coding is a new language, a language computing, and learns it is a great way to enter the world on the right foot.” The project is a co-operation with and is inspired by the Obama administration’s projects for US schools.
