In September 2018 eLearningworld reported about that Linné University
had appointed the first Professor of EdTech in Sweden, Italo Masiello. The first cross-disciplinary project to integrate edtech in school on evidence-based research and development has started with funding from IST Group AB, KK-foundation and Linné University. Where the focus is directed on research and development within fields like pedagogy and technology, as well as psychology and design. Professor Masiello comments in the following way: “… the field of edtech origins from a societal development where technology is not the only focus, but instead, it is to a large extent about new ways to learn, think and do things.
