Robot helps pupils to participate in class without being in the classroomPupils that for different reasons cannot participate in the education within the classroom can in a primary school, Hedeskolan, in Kungsbacka in the western part of Sweden, now remotely both socially and as a learner participate. This is made possible with the classroom robot that pupils can connect with from their tablet or smartphone from home. After connected the pupil can speak through the robot’s loudspeakers and also gain attention from the teacher and the other pupils by blinking. According to the principal at the school, Emma Dahl, the main advantages is the social interaction that the remote pupil can hear, see and act within the classroom. The robot is also a bridge for pupils that for a long time have not participated in the classroom work to easier come back to school.
