England, Australia, US and Singapore is some of the countries that today are using digital games for physical training in school. These so called Exergames is challenging children to train more in order to fight obesity. For instance children that do no like traditional sports this are a promising solution, according to Professor Mikael Quennerstedt at Örebro University. He has led a research project to evaluate the benefits and problems with Exergames with a special focus of what children actually are learning from the game. Almost like personal trainer the games both give critiques and credits to the performance from measuring weight and use. Professor Quennerstedts conclusion is that some games when used in the right way works well for training and learning purposes. Especially since the teacher can let go of the role as an instructor and focus on observing, supporting and educating. Source: forskning.se
