The Cluster of Excellence Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) of Bielefeld University is one of 43 clusters of excellence in Germany. During 8-9 September 2016, CITEC is arranging the conference “Towards the workplace of the future — with virtual reality” where experts will present the latest developments and studies on augmented and virtual reality for the workplace. In short, VR works as a money-saver, tech-tester and as an authentic job training environment is some of the benefits for the future workplace. “With virtual reality, we can generate spaces and situations that help people learn to perform occupational duties,” says computer scientist Dr. Thies Pfeiffer, while if the same training would be in reality it would require much more time and resources. Participation in the conference is free, but visitors must register in advance on the conference website. Source: Press Release from Bielefeld University on EurekAlert
