Verizon is launching a US-nationwide Challenge October 15 with focus on the best 5G empowered EdTech to transform middle school education. The target groups for the competition are nonprofit EdTech developers like research groups and universities, and the winners of the challenge will share totally $1 million. With 5G as the engine of Edtech technologies, the winner is expected to be found in Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality developers. As the costs for these technologies are going down at the same time as they have great potential to empower learning experiences as well as teaching, they obviously will be some of the main drivers of the transformation of the education in general.
