The research will focus on three main areas: “Artificial intelligence and machine learning are going to change society in ways we still don’t understand or can control,” said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. “Strengthening the research effort is crucial for us to ensure that development takes place in a way that is in line with our values as a society.” The government is also working on other measures to support the development of AI in Norway. These include initiatives to attract talent, build infrastructure, and promote collaboration between businesses, universities, and research institutions.
