Learning from the best - CERN offers programme for physics teachersCERN that is located outside Geneva is one of the most respected science centres in the world. This European research organization operates e.g. the largest particle physics laboratory and it is also the place where the World Wide Web was born among many other inventions. CERN now offers a programme for further training for physics teachers that includes unique resources to introduce particle physics in the classroom. The training programme is free of charge and the one-week programmes are held in one of the national languages of the CERN member states. Most of the EU member states as well as Norway, Switzerland and Israel are full members of CERN. There is also an international version of the programme that is held in English. The main purpose of the programme is to bring new ideas on how to teach modern physics into the classroom. Source: CERN
