The Norwegian Government invests close to €10 million in projects to boost digitization in teacher education. Five universities will receive funding and the purpose is that the teacher students should receive professional digital competence within their profession. The minister of education Henrik Asheim comments: “It is important that the teachers that educate the next generation gets even better digital competence. Therefore it is essential for us that the teacher education and further education for teachers integrate such competence in all fields. I have great expectations on these projects.” The basic goal is that the use of digital technology will be a natural tool in the teacher’s everyday working life.
