Vienna authorities are launching a new innovative digital strategy to boost the involvement of the citizens in the development of the city. This is a kind of crowd-sourcing, which forms a cornerstone of a dynamic digital democracy. The combination of new technologies with targeted lateral thinking allows extraordinary possibilities for a direct and open democracy. Within a short time 172 creative ideas have been introduced by almost 400 participants, which were then discussed in working groups to be put online for discussion. This hybrid of online and offline participation has proven to be particularly constructive. One of the first issues that are up for dialogue is: What services would you like personally for a smart app? The Digital Agenda is to develop dynamically over the next few years.
