Vienna authorities are launching a new innovative digital strategy to boost the involvement of the citizens in the development of the city. This is a kind of crowd-sourcing, which forms a cornerstone of a dynamic digital democracy. The combination of new technologies with targeted lateral thinking allows extraordinary possibilities for a direct and open democracy. Within a short time 172 creative ideas have been introduced by almost 400 participants, which were then discussed in working groups to be put online for discussion.
