The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launches two new projects to promote education for young people in small and micro enterprises and a competition of digital talent open for all students. The first is a part of the training structure program JOBSTARTER plus where the BMBF will provide around 7.6 million euros of its own funds as well as funds from the European Social Fund. Besides providing in-company training, it also helps micro- and small businesses improve in their prerequisites for competition against medium- and big businesses of young talented people that are entering the labour market. In this search for young talents, the BMBF is also funding “Youth Competition of computer science” that supports various children’s and youth competitions on e.g. foreign languages or the “meeting of young authors” to “Youth composes”. These nationwide competitions (BWINF) reach approximately 300 000 children and young people in more than 1,800 schools. Federal Education Minister Johanna Wanka comments: “Sometimes, participation in such a competition characterizes the whole later career when an attraction evolves from the enthusiasm for experimentation in science and research.” Source: BMBF press release 1 press release 2
