Robots are today rather common Danish schools. These humanoid robots’ tasks are e.g. to assist and teach pupils grammar and math. It also engages children with autism to social contacts since they become interested in the robot that makes the pupils focus longer on a task. The robot includes besides teaching abilities also e.g. face-recognition which makes it remember each pupils name, which improves engagement even further, says Francis Nørgaard, teacher at Skolen ved Nordens Plads, Frederiksberg, to Berlingske and referring to the robot Zeno that is adapted to science education and to help and teach children with autism. Zeno’s height is 56 centimeters and it can speak 26 different languages, and for pedagogical reasons, it uses exaggerative mimics when it speaks, among other things it can do. Source: Berlingske
