How can you make lifelong learning an integrated part of your life? MIT’s WaitChatter suite’s solution, a Google Chrome extension for Gchat, is an interaction design that focuses on the micro-moments when you have time available. The suite includes vocabulary exercises in French or Spanish that you answer while you’re waiting for your conversation partner to respond in Gchat or in other moments of waiting. Carrie Cai, a PhD student at MIT’s CSAIL, explains to Co.Design: “You might not have 20 or even five minutes of consistent free time to devote to learning every day, but you do spend a surprising amount of time waiting.” MIT’s Waitchatter method is one solution to make this time productive and integrate lifelong learning into your everyday life.
