Romania’s high school enrolment rate has increased during the last decade, but dropout rate also has increased dramatically. Romania Secondary Education Project (ROSE) funded by a loan from the World Bank and will be implemented by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Scientific Research is directed on decrease the amount of dropouts an improve learning conditions. Systemic improvements like curriculum revision, teacher training, and revisions to national learning assessments and examinations are the main direction of the project. In addition to ROSE, the World Bank also has assisted the Government of Romania to tackle the education and skills agenda through technical assistance focusing on pre-university per capita funding.
