The new Eurobarometer “Cross-border access to online content” shows that the demand to use online service for digital content cross borders in the EU is high, especially in younger generations. Those aged 15-24 65% found this important and the group aged 25-39 50%, while the group aged 55+ only 13% found this important. The amount of respondents that actually have accessed services with digital content cross borders shows that the barriers are still high. The survey also shows that eBooks are the item or service that is most common to pay for. 26 586 people from 28 EU member states responded to the survey in January 2015.
