The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) are launching a new research program that includes three focus areas: Smart mobility, digital society and healthy life. Focus will be set e.g. on digital technologies for modern knowledge acquisition in the practical university education and service robots for the dependent people in their own homes. The key for the project to be successful is to develop user-friendly applications. For example, a control by voice, facial expression or gestures ensure that such an intelligent oven for all people can be easily operated. The new research program is a part of the already prioritised area of “Human-Computer Interaction for demographic change” and will receive a total funding of €70 million during the coming five years.
