The German Government is launching the D-BOP competition directed on innovative offers to give young people exclusive digital access to career orientation. The competition is a part of the excellence initiative for vocational training of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Until February 28, 2023, everyone who has developed a digital career orientation offer and has already tested it with the respective target group can submit contributions. A jury of experts will select the winners. Federal Education Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger explains:

“In view of the shortage of skilled workers, we urgently need more young people who decide to do an apprenticeship. Vocational orientation, which we are strengthening with our Vocational Training Excellence Initiative, plays a decisive role here.”

Nine award winners will each receive prize money of €5000. Where the offers are intended to support young people to explore their own skills and interests with digital technology.
